Papers for My Acres is a Fufu + Grits original podcast hosted by the engaging duo, AJ and Dalin. The podcast offers an exploration of Black culture that seamlessly blends thought and humor. Through compelling storytelling, Papers for My Acres promises listeners a journey that celebrates the richness of black heritage while offering insightful reflections on history and the present.



MOODBOARD




LOGO
The logo utilizes a script font to evoke a sense of nostalgia, directly aligning with the historic storytelling aspect of the podcast and also referencing the signing of documents, such as land deeds.




LOGO VARIATIONS
To emphasize the educational aspect of the podcast, a vintage collegiate flag was incorporated into the logo. Additionally, illustrations were crafted to complement the logo in specific use cases.







COLOR PALETTE






ILLUSTRATION
In addition to the brand, illustrations of the two hosts, AJ and Dalin, we drawn to reference the drawing style from the 1930s. Recognizing that many images during that time depicted Black individuals negatively, this style was deliberately chosen to rewrite history and portray Black individuals in ways we are not accustomed to.






BRAND ASSETS

A set of stickers and background elements was designed to complement the podcast theme, providing a collegiate touch to the brand. These elements draw inspiration from vintage college memorabilia.






TYPOGRAPHY
Futura's clean and modern design aligns with the podcast's commitment to contemporary storytelling of Black culture. Meanwhile, Noble adds a touch of sophistication and legibility. Together, these fonts create a harmonious balance and contribute to a modern yet timeless brand identity for Papers for My Acres.
